A country-by-country comparison from the Networks API, with active and listed merchants, product counts and how to pull one country. - Author: Dylan Bertalli People who search for affiliate networks by country usually want the same thing: which networks have merchants they can work with in a given market. A list of network names does not answer that, because a network can list thousands of merchants and have only a share of them switched on. This article uses the Affiliate.com Networks API, pulled on October 28, 2026, to compare countries on *active* merchants, which are the ones that are not paused. The data covers 29 countries and 208 network entries, each one a network in a single country. Several networks appear in many countries. Awin, for example, has an entry in 23. ## How to read the numbers - **Listed merchants** is every merchant the network lists for that country. - **Active merchants** is the subset that is not paused, and the number a product search can actually draw from. - **Counts are per network.** A brand that sits on two networks is counted once on each, so totals across networks are not a count of unique merchants. ## Affiliate networks by country: the top 12 This table ranks countries by active merchants. Without them the United States has 3,625 active merchants, which is still more than any other country. - **The Nordic countries add up.** Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland together have 3,491 active merchants, close to the United States figure without those two networks. - **The gap between listed and active is widest in Scandinavia.** Denmark lists 5,948 merchants and has 1,622 active. Much of the difference is PriceRunner, which lists 2,407 merchants in Denmark, 2,291 in Sweden and 968 in Norway with none active. ## Merchants and products do not move together The countries with the most merchants are not always the ones with the most products. The Netherlands has 1,286 active merchants and 121.2M products. Belgium has 263 active merchants and 94.3M products, because bol.com carries 74.4M products in the Netherlands and 73.7M in Belgium from 26 merchants in each. Germany has 1,055 active merchants and 65.2M products, and Australia has 562 and 19.5M. For a catalog build, products show how much there is to search. Active merchants show how many different stores a reader can be sent to. Both are worth looking at, as in [viewing merchant and product counts by network](https://blog.affiliate.com/view-merchant-and-product-counts-by-network/). ## Networks that are listed but not active 36 of the 208 entries have no active merchants. 30 of them still list merchants, 10,349 in total. FlexOffers US lists 1,919 and Avangate lists 1,666, and neither has any active. Before choosing a network for a market, check the active count and not the listed one. ## Finding the networks for one country The Networks API filters by country. Awin is the largest at 372 active merchants, followed by ADCELL at 178 and Daisycon at 122\. For a regional site this answers the first question, which networks to start with. The short version: the number of active merchants, not the length of a network’s list, is the figure that shows how much a country has to offer.
